Obituary for Alton Joseph Viltz at Syrie Funeral Home, Inc. (2024)

Lafayette – Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 9 a.m. at Syrie Funeral Home for Alton Joseph Viltz, 74, who passed away September 9, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Services will be conducted by Deacon Anthony Ozenne. Interment will be in immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery.

He is survived by two beloved sons, Joseph Alton Broussard and John Stephen Broussard of Lafayette; one sister, Mary Ruth Gilbert of Lafayette; one brother, Martin Wiltz of Lafayette; two grandsons, Curly Dean and Kitrus Dean of Lafayette; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Hebert Broussard of Morgan City; three sisters-in-law, Helen Williams of Lafayette, Martha Guidry of Houston, TX and Barbra Wiltz of Lafayette; three brothers-in-law, Marshall Broussard, Alvin Gilbert and Maurice Gilbert, all of Lafayette and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other close relatives and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Viltz and Ada Reaux Viltz; twin sister, Elma Gilbert Wiltz and his brothers, Larry Wiltz and Murphy Wiltz.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 17, 2009 at Syrie Funeral Home beginning at 7 a.m.
